AKA’s family has appealed for unity among Kiernan Forbes’s Megacy supporters
The family is struggling to accept the loss of their beloved kid, in addition to the fans venting their emotions on social media. AKA's parents discussed the rapper's slaying in an exclusive interview with You Magazine.
CCTV footage outside the Wish Restaurant on Florida Road in Durban made the rapper's murder public to the entire world. Tony Forbes admitted in an interview that he continues to watch the CCTV footage of Kiernan being shot to death. AKA's father continued by stating that he is not looking into anything and is merely attempting to witness his son's final moments.
“I never stop watching it, but I’m not sure if that’s good for me,” he said as per TheSouthAfrican via You Magazine. “I’m not investigating anything. A part of me just wants to know more about that last moment of his life. Rewatching it is my way of being there,” Tony Forbes added.
According to AKA's mother, she is staying away from the CCTV footage. The only thing Lynn Forbes wants to remember about Kiernan, she added, is the sunshine he brought into their lives. "I'd like to think of him as a light. He was a decent man who gave us so much brightness. She spoke.
Investigations concerning the deaths of AKA and his friend Tibz are still ongoing, and the suspects have not been found. In a statement, the Forbes family urged the Megacy to maintain composure and spirit.
“We are at a loss for words to describe our gratitude for the outpouring of love that we’ve received from the Megacy. We’ve seen people deeply hurt and angered by Kiernan’s murder and wanting justice. As a family, we empathise with the grief experienced and we understand your pain.” Reads the statement.
