Bulawayo Rapper pays tribute to the late Dodger

Rapper Sage M-One, who is known for his in-depth use of the English language in his art, writing and prolific expression on stage, payed tribute to a fellow writer who succumbed to illness on the 25th of August 2021.

M-One's performance at the inaugural Youth Governance Heroes Awards by Loziba Arts Festival, and Youth For Innovation Trust, began with his brief history of his relationship with the late Donald Marindirire popular known as Dodger

Dodger was a creative in his own write. He had been involved in the Zim Hip Hop spheres for a very long time, and contributed to Hip Hop's promotion through his work with Shona Boy Conglomerate, an entertainment blog which he published articles about the industry

'Beef' misunderstandings between 2 or more artists in Hip Hop, is usually what people associate the genre with. However, M-One's tribute is a clear indication that in spite of the Bulawayo vs Harare narrative, unity of purpose is a bigger driving force than believed. M-One goes on to perform his upcoming unreleased single, "R.I.P." dedicated to the people he has lost whilst growing up and channels that energy in honour of the late great writer, Dodger.
